I am a 4th year medical student from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM).  For my final rotation of medical school, I am completing an international rotation in Angola, a country in southwest Africa.  My preceptor, Dr. Kubacki, is a graduate of OUHCOM and lives here as a medical missionary. Portuguese is the national language here, so I named the blog with the Portuguese word for adventures: aventuras. I will be sharing my adventures and lessons learned on this blog throughout my month here.

  4. Hi Heather! It’s great to read your blog. Your life is so interesting! I think sometimes we get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget what a big world it is and how lucky we are. It’s amazing to me how happy people can be with so little. You will take away a lot from this trip, I’m sure. Stay healthy and keep writing! Love, Aunt Mary
